FAQ

Who are we

MAXXAM® textiles has been in production for over 35 years. The concept was patented in the early 80s by co-founder of Moore Maxxam, Rosemary Moore.

All our clothing uses our signature MAXXAM® textile, which we make ourselves, before cutting and sowing into our styles. So that means we have control over the production process from start to finish. This is unusual and a big deal because it means we can actively work to make sure every step meets our sustainability standards and work to keep improving every facet of production wherever we can.

We use small producers to avoid the costs of centralization where not essential, this allows us to keep the price low for you guys! It also allows us to create strong and personal relationships with our factories, who are, after all, a big part of everything we do.

All our garments are made in England, UK. That includes everything from the knitting of the MAXXAM® textile, to the sewing, packing, and everything in between.

The MAXXAM® textile is made from 88% nylon and 12% elastane. With the same composition - the recycled fabric is made up from around 50% recycled yarn collected from factory waste.
Our clothing is made with a high quality, stretch, seamless jersey, wavy fabric. The nylon and elastane are from Italian mills and their yarns are OEKO-TEX® certified. The elastane content is authentic lycra branded, and the nylon is Nylon 66, one of the highest quality polyamides available, which gives the fabric it’s lovely soft feel.

We are constantly working on lowering our impact on the environment. Our new recycled fabric is a big step forwards for us. All our packaging and labels are sustainable. They can be reused, recycled, composted or biodegraded. The fabric we use has minimal waste and is made to last a long time. We want to make clothing that is multi-purpose, that'll grow with you so that we can all consume less. The creators of Moore Maxxam are all eco-warriors, along with the brand, they’re also working on sustainability and nature centred projects. Check out our Eco Pledge for more info!

FYI, even parents can squeeze themselves into our medium and large garments.
